CABLE TRAVELS BACK IN TIME .DEADPOOL 2 MOVIE CLIP.

In February , Terry Crews was revealed to have a role in the film, [48] the character Shatterstar was confirmed to be appearing, [36] and the production returned to Vancouver for six days of reshoots under a new working title, Daisy.

Because of this, the reshoots were adding more of the elements that audiences responded positively to, including additional material featuring Cable and Domino.

He highlighted a car chase which combines vehicles, actors, and green screen. This was the final photography work done for the film.

One scene that was cut from the film following test screenings was a post-credits scene featuring Deadpool travelling back in time to kill a baby Adolf Hitler.

It was decided that the scene made audiences too "squeamish", which was not the feeling that the creative team wanted people to be leaving the film with.

The latter came about when someone suggested the time travel device be used to fix real-world mistakes like Reynolds' role in Green Lantern which the writers felt was "the funniest idea ever, and what a great idea to end the movie".

Visual effects for the characters of Colossus and Juggernaut were provided by Framestore. The model for Colossus was altered from the first film to make him more "chiseled and angular", and his movements were based on motion capture done by Andre Tricoteux on set.

Tricoteux wore several metallic pieces, including a helmet and chest piece, as reference. The character's "iconic metal ridges" were live textured by animators for the first film, but Framestore changed this to use a combination of shape movement and distortion so they could be more precise with the geometry of the lines.

A full-scale replica of the character's metal helmet was built for interacting with stunts on set, but the final version was completely digital along with the rest of the character.

Framestore animators found it challenging to move the helmet in a way that the character could still move his head underneath it, and studied the movement of bodybuilders for the character.

Juggernaut's face was modeled on Leitch's, and Reynolds provided facial capture for the character, but this was modified during the animation process.

For the final fight between the two characters, two stuntmen who matched the height difference between the two were filmed on a motion capture stage for reference; this footage was edited into a previsualization.

Junkie XL chose not to return for Deadpool 2 after composing the score for the first film, given that Miller was "the driving force behind" him working on that film in the first place.

It is the first score album to receive such a warning. Bates felt this was not "merit-less debauchery, it was just fun. It's very rare that we can work on something at such a high professional level that embraces the irreverence of Deadpool.

Leitch directed a music video to go with the release of the song, and Reynolds both wanted to produce a music video to accompany the song; Leitch was initially conflicted about this, as he wanted audiences to discover the song, [] which was filmed in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

For the Fox presentation at CineEurope in June, Reynolds made a video message featuring himself in costume as Deadpool from the film's set.

Justin Carter of Comic Book Resources found it "oddly appropriate for Deadpool 2 to co-opt [this] iconic work for a modern pop culture audience" as it is "true to Deadpool's incredibly referential nature".

Parker added, "This trailer only showed a few seconds from the film, but fans will be talking about it all day" because of the presentation, unlike "any other trailer which would have shown so little of the product".

Rather than pay for an expensive advertisement spot during Super Bowl LII , the film's official Twitter account was used to "live tweet" the event with in-character commentary from Deadpool.

Parker felt that "Reynolds and company have completely changed the trailer game. The formula of just showing some of the actual movie, but with a tiny story thrown in is such an incredible marketing idea.

The group collectively praised the overall marketing for the franchise, with McMillan suggesting that the campaign for the sequel may surpass that of the first Deadpool.

Forbes contributor Scott Mendelson called it "pretty funny and mostly entertaining", but was disappointed in it being a "conventional" trailer compared to the more out-there videos previously released for the film.

He explained that he thought the first film "had a winning lead character and fine character-centric jokes, but a pretty generic origin story plot that eventually became the thing it was critiquing", and was concerned that the sequel would turn out to be "a more standard 'superhero sequel' sell".

Mendelson also noted the inclusion of T. Miller in the trailer following the reveal of sexual misconduct allegations against the actor in late , calling it "inevitable no matter how tarnished his reputation might be these days".

Also in March, a Twitter account was established for the character Peter and began to be regularly updated with tweets about his interests, including photos of the character beekeeping and preparing for his role in the X-Force team as seen in the film.

The pop-ups respectively served pizza and chimichangas , traditionally Deadpool's favorite food, as well as Deadpool -inspired Harder drinks.

Deadpool 2 premiered at Leicester Square in London on May 10, Leitch's initial cut of the film was around two hours and twelve minutes, with "nips and tucks" done to it to get the run time down to the final two hours.

By May , Leitch was working on an official extended edition of the film with Fox wanting to "spin that out as a special thing".

He said it would be closer to his initial runtime and would include a cut montage of Deadpool trying to commit suicide in various ways, an extended sequence in the X-Mansion, and alternate versions of jokes that were not chosen for the film's theatrical version.

Some of the scenes cut from the theatrical version of the film were debuted at the panel. At the end of September , Fox announced that it would release an untitled Deadpool film in theaters on December 21 in place of Alita: Battle Angel , which was moved to February The studio suggested that press and fans "guess away" as to what this new film would be, but it was believed to be a re-cut version of Deadpool 2 that would carry a PG rating rather than being R-rated like the initial theatrical release.

Reese and Wernick wrote new scenes for the new version, and Leitch returned to direct them during a single day in August. So I think it's going to be a real joy for not only a whole new audience, but also an audience that has seen and loved the Deadpool movies.

Fox officially announced Once Upon a Deadpool in November, and changed the release schedule to run from December 12 to The studio considered the release to be a chance of a "Christmas bonus", and it also had the potential to be released in China unlike the R-rated version.

Once Upon a Deadpool received mixed reviews from critics. The website's critical consensus reads, " Once Upon a Deadpool retains enough of the franchise's anarchic spirit to entertain, but doesn't add enough to Deadpool 2 to justify its own existence.

Deadpool 2 was released digitally on August 7, , and physically on August The Blu-ray format also includes a gag reel, deleted and extended scenes, alternate takes, featurettes on Easter eggs, the cast and characters, Leitch's directing, and the action and stunts, and more.

On April 20, , both Fandango and Regal Cinemas announced that Deadpool 2 was the best pre-selling R-rated film in their respective histories. The website's critical consensus reads, "Though it threatens to buckle under the weight of its meta gags, Deadpool 2 is a gory, gleeful lampoon of the superhero genre buoyed by Ryan Reynolds' undeniable charm.

Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times gave the film 3. Kinnard wrote: "If you enjoyed the guilty pleasures of Deadpool , it's an immutable law of physics that you will love Deadpool 2.

The second verse may be the same as the first, but that verse is a dirty limerick of childish goodness. It's actually a fair bit better—funnier, more inventive than the smash Scott of The New York Times was critical of the cynical tone of the film, writing "something ever so slightly dishonest about this character, something false about the boundaries drawn around his sadism and his rage.

Deadpool 2 dabbles in ugliness and transgression, but takes no real creative risks. But a film that spits one-liners as mechanically as a tennis-ball launcher is even more tediously predictable than one with no sense of humor at all.

By November , with development underway on Deadpool 2 , Fox was also planning Deadpool 3 , which was said to include the X-Force team. In May , Reynolds stated that a third Deadpool film may not be made given the franchise's shift of focus to X-Force, [] though Reese and Wernick felt a third film would "absolutely" be happening after Reynolds took a break from the character and X-Force was released, which they compared to the Iron Man franchise having Iron Man 3 release after the crossover film The Avengers It just depends on time and place, so we'll see what happens.

After Disney's purchase of Fox was finalized in , all X-Men films in development were cancelled, including X-Force and Fox's version of Deadpool 3 , with Marvel Studios taking control of the franchise.

After the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company was announced in December and completed in March , Disney CEO Bob Iger said that Deadpool would be integrated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe under Disney, [] and that the company would be willing to make future R-rated Deadpool films "as long as we let the audiences know what's coming".

In October , Reese and Wernick said that they have a script in development, but were waiting for approval from Marvel Studios to begin production on the third film.

Reese said, "[Deadpool] will live in the R-rated universe that we've created, and hopefully we'll be allowed to play a little bit in the MCU sandbox as well and incorporate him into that.

After travelling through time and fixing several mistakes that a future Deadpool caused, Cable and present-Deadpool eventually fix the timeline.

The effects on the timeline causes Cable to revert to his original "status quo", with his robotic arm and his original telekinesis and telepathic power set.

Cable is seen in the year dealing with some unidentified issue related to Stryfe, in the aftermath of an Inhuman attack that covers the city of Boston in sentient plant life led by the Shredded Man.

Belle eventually joins the rest of the Uncanny Avengers helping Synapse in the present and helps deal with the Inhuman causing the problems, before deciding to join the team when he learns the team's true mission is dealing with the Red Skull with Professor Xavier's brain and powers.

In this series, Cable is depicted as a member of an organization that protects the Marvel universe timeline from damage caused by time travel.

When the young Iceman is attacked by an unknown assailant, Cable arrives to save him. However, Cable is attacked by the unknown assailant who tells him that he failed his duty to protect time, then shoots Cable, murdering him.

It is revealed that Cable's killer is a younger version of him dubbed Kid Cable , who has arrived in the present to capture the five time-displaced X-Men since their presence in the current time period will in bring forth a catastrophic future.

Kid Cable kidnaps Mimic then arrives at the X-Mansion and incapacitates young Angel and Beast but is only able to leave with the former.

When he is confronted by the young Jean Grey and former members of X-Force Domino, Warpath, and Boom-Boom , he clarifies that he is indeed the younger version of the Cable they knew and he murdered and reveals that the reason he's been kidnapping the time-displaced X-Men is because he intends to return them all to the past, something that his older self never did, hence why he killed him.

His reasoning for this is because Ahab will kill one of the young X-Men Cable says that it's young Iceman he kills but clarifies that it does not matter which one dies, as long as it's one of the five in the present, thus greatly changing huge parts of their future battles they won are now lost, humans turn against Mutants much sooner, an earlier and stronger version of the Sentinel Program and Reaver Virus arise which in turn damns mutantkind and brings an earlier and deadlier end to the X-Men.

As such, Kid Cable saw fit to kidnap them all so he can personally return them back to their past even kidnapping Mimic so he would remove his wings and attach them to young Angel, since the latter did not have cosmic fire wings in the past.

After the young X-Men have returned to the past - with Jean suppressing their memories of the future until they 'catch up' with the present - it is revealed that Kid Cable is the younger version of Cable, until he caused their timelines to diverge when he brought Cyclops back to life, through a complex plan involving capturing a fragment of the Phoenix Force to restore him.

By the time Bishop woke up, Sugar Man was dead with his body split in two. When the event was soon afterwards revealed to be the return of Nate Grey who had his mind twisted when he found and used the Life Seed on himself which not only made him recover his powers but also increased them to the point of overriding the black x-shaped tattoo which was protecting him.

Kid Cable keeps Cyclops in his base for a time, admitting that he just tweaked history in this manner because he did not wanted his father dead, but when faced with the separate threats of the X-Men battling Nate Grey and a human scientist whose life was saved by Cyclops in the past was now being threatened by his insane former professor, Kid Cable tells Cyclops he can save one or the other, with Cyclops' choice of the scientist sparing him the apparent destruction of the other X-Men and giving Scott the incentive to re-examine his actions prior to his death.

Kid Cable has since replaced his older version by remaining in the present and joined the mutant nation of Krakoa when it was founded.

He attended a family barbecue, where he traded guns with Raza of the Starjammers. When Kwannon formed a team to investigate the new threat of Apoth and the Overclock drug, she enlisted the aid of X and Cable.

Despite some hostility from the local lifeforms, in part due to Cable handing one a grenade as a gift, which it then activated, the situation was resolved.

While investigating an Apoth location in Brazil, Cable was captured by Apoth's servants, who saw Cable as the symbolic unity between man, machine, and mutant.

Cable was born with telepathic and telekinetic abilities. However, the extent to which he has been able to utilize these powers has varied dramatically throughout his appearances.

Originally, both were limited by his need to restrain his techno-organic infection, and his powers were negligible compared to his more traditional fighting skills.

However, following the subsidence of the infection, they gradually increased to the point where they were similar in magnitude to those of Nate Grey , to whom he is genetically identical.

At their height, he demonstrated the ability to simultaneously levitate the floating city of Providence and combat the Silver Surfer.

Following that story, his powers were burnt out and he replaced both with technological substitutes. He later lost and regained his abilities again when he was de-aged during House of M while mending Deadpool's maligned physiology as he progressed to his proper age.

Cable has fought Wolverine to a stalemate, [57] and defeated Captain America in hand-to-hand combat and defeated Falcon, Red Hulk and Iron Man using both brute force and wit, all while Cable was in severe pain and hours away from dying of his techno-organic infection.

When Professor Xavier's son Legion travels back in time to kill Magneto in the "Legion Quest" storyline, Beast notes that Cable possesses "latent time-travel abilities".

With the assistance of Shi'ar technology, Professor Xavier "jump-starts" this ability while Jean Grey telekinetically holds Cable's body together, allowing Cable to send his consciousness into the past.

His techno-organic body parts possess enhanced strength and durability, and his techno-organic left eye gives him enhanced eyesight, allowing him to see farther than a normal human and in the infrared spectrum.

He is also able to interface his techno-organic body parts with other types of machinery, an ability that allows him to hack into computers, open electronic locks , and travel through time.

In the "Messiah War" storyline, during the fight with his clone, Stryfe, Cable demonstrates the ability to hide others from Stryfe's mental view, implying that at least he retains some of his telepathic powers.

He also still possesses some of his telekinesis, but he is using it solely to keep the techno-organic virus in his body at bay. As of the end of the "Avengers: X-Sanction" storyline, Hope Summer has apparently cured Cable of the techno-organic virus using the Phoenix Force, and appears to at least have his telepathy.

After being afflicted by a derivative of the super soldier formula begotten from an alternate reality. Cable was left incapacitated as the faulty chemical weapons test would cause his physiology to self-destruct if left unchecked.

Nemesis place his body in suspended animation until they could find a cure for his condition. In the meantime, Cable would operate his X-Force team through short-lived clones whom had a fraction of his precognition and a shortened lifespan due to being carbon copies with the faulty Volga Effect serum coursing in their systems.

However, he regains them along with his cybernetics as a result of Deadpool repairing Cable's personal timeline. Cable not only regained his psionic abilities, he had even regained the underlying potential he had always possessed since infancy.

Having engaged in a psionic battle with a clone of the Red Skull, who had stolen the brain of the deceased Charles Xavier, the clone revealed that Mr.

Summers was in fact an omega level mutant. It functions as a focus and amplifier for telepathic or telekinetic power, which it can combine then project as powered psychic force blasts.

Apart from his superhuman abilities, Cable has been said to have a brilliant mind for military tactics. In addition to his mainstream Marvel Universe incarnation, Cable has been depicted in other fictional universes.

In the Cable and Deadpool series storyline "Enema of State", [74] Deadpool and the mutants Cannonball and Siryn discover several alternate versions of Cable as they traverse several alternate universes via "Bodyslide", searching for Cable after he disappears.

They first encounter an evil incarnation of Cable who has become one of the four Horsemen of Apocalypse , War. Deadpool seized the infant, took him back to his home universe, and cared for Nathan, who grew rapidly after having been injected with Deadpool's DNA.

In the setting of the " Earth X " storyline, the Techno-organic virus has overtaken Cable's body, who has become a blob of organic metal.

In the fantasy world depicted in the graphic novel Wolverine: Rahne of Terra , Cable's counterpart is a wizard called the Mage, who carried the Warlock Staff and a crossbow.

In Ultimate X-Men , Cable is a future version of Wolverine who goes back to the past to capture Professor Xavier, returning with him to the future in order to train him for the coming battle with Apocalypse.

A two-part storyline in What If Ultimately, Cable leads a faction of mutants loyal to him and assassinates the Professor, Cyclops , and Jean Grey before embarking on a violent crusade.

Cable is ultimately killed by Wolverine , [84] but his actions have already led to the further oppression of mutants.

Magneto attempts to take control of the United States in the chaos, but is killed by a new model of plastic Sentinels , who decide that enslaving humanity is the best way to root out mutants.

However, Wolverine assembles several surviving mutants to fight against the Sentinels as a new team of X-Men.

In it, it is revealed that X-Factor's confrontation with Apocalypse ended differently—Nathan was saved, but aged somehow from a toddler into a child.

An attack by mysterious agents causes Nathan to be moved to the protective custody of the Starjammers. Cable appears in one panel of the series but no connection between Cable and Nathan is made.

This version of Cable was consumed by the Poisons and joined them into invading Earth In the end, he and the other Poisons crumbled with the death of the Poison Queen.

He is never shown to be telepathic, though he does use telekinesis at one point. He is also depicted as coming from the year , where he leads an army in a desperate war against the forces of the immortal villain Apocalypse.

Cyclops's future paternity to Cable is implied after Jean Gray telepathically read Cable's mind. Cable and Cyclops also do not get along during missions.

In Deadpool 2 , Cable goes back in time to assassinate the young mutant Russell Collins , as Collins's future version is a criminal and murders his wife and daughter.

Deadpool forms the X-Force team to stop him, but both sides are at an impasse when Russell teams up with Juggernaut. Cable decides to team up with X-Force to take down the two threats, but allows Wade Wilson the chance to redeem Russell before the kid becomes a murderer.

Wade sacrifices himself when Cable tries to shoot Russell, causing Russell to reject a future as a villain which saves Cable's family.

In return, Cable uses his last charge on his time-traveling device to travel to the past to prevent himself from killing Wade while still allowing Russell to have a change of heart at the cost of Cable losing the chance to return home to his family, Cable concluding that he will remain in the present to create a better future for his family.

Following writer Mark Waid 's instructions that the character's appearance be based on aspects of superhero design trends of the time that they disliked, Ross said of Cable, "That's a character that Mark Waid invented that was really just put to me like come up with the most God awful, Rob Liefeld sort of design that you can.

What I was stealing from was — really only two key designs of Rob's — the design of Cable. I hated it. I felt like it looked like they just threw up everything on the character — the scars, the thing going on with his eye, the arm, and what's with all the guns?

But the thing is, when I put those elements together with the helmet of Shatterstar — I think that was his name — well, the ram horns and the gold, suddenly it held together as one of the designs that I felt happiest with in the entire series.

Leitch worked closely with Sela, the pair having previously collaborated on Leitch's earlier films, to acknowledge the aesthetic of the first film while expanding the look of the sequel to match the new situations and characters introduced.

The pair created specific shot lists and plans for blocking out scenes before they arrived on set, and were very particular about the colors they used; they planned the color palette of the entire film, and also produced color wheels detailing specific palettes for each set piece.

These color wheels were sometimes adjusted several days into the filming of a sequence after digital intermediate work revealed a different look than Leitch and Sela had been anticipating.

Elements that were carried over from the first film included the "moodiness" and saturation of scenes set in Deadpool's apartment, and the contrast with blacks in action sequences, while Cable's future had a new aesthetic unlike anything in the first film.

This aesthetic met the storytelling needs of the scene as well as the practicalities of the filmmaking process. Harris was working on the film as a stunt performer for the first time and had only joined the production a week before.

Harris was not wearing a helmet because the character she was portraying, Domino, does not wear one in the scene, and there had not been time since she joined the film to create one for her to fit underneath the Domino wig.

She had two full days of rehearsing the stunt as well as five more attempts on the day of the accident. This decision was criticized by multiple stunt professionals, with many noting that Harris' experiences racing motorcycles did not necessarily qualify her as an able stunt performer.

With this news also came reports that the film's crew were "enduring very long hours" and were "exhausted by the schedule", with the studio confirming that some days had increased from the scheduled 12—13 hours filming to over 15 hours.

Earlier in August, Reynolds revealed that Rob Delaney was at the film's set, [] and Eddie Marsan revealed later in the month that he was also on set for a role in the film.

He also felt that introducing Domino gave the film unique opportunities for action sequences taking advantage of her luck-based abilities, as well as focusing on Deadpool's healing abilities and trying to use those interestingly.

Leitch was happy for this to happen, Reynolds wanted them to be there, and it allowed the pair to continue contributing to the script and suggest new jokes and ideas throughout the filming process.

Scroggins made modification to the CH and worked with SFX to rig it to a motion base Gimbal , It would be the first time a real Chinook was placed on a motion base in a motion picture.

Fox revealed in November that the film was technically untitled at that point, and not officially known as Deadpool 2 as had been assumed; the studio was temporarily referring to the film as The Untitled Deadpool Sequel.

Miller surfaced a month later, and by January some commentators had called for Miller to be replaced in the film in a similar manner to how Kevin Spacey was replaced by Christopher Plummer through reshoots in All the Money in the World Producer Lauren Shuler Donner addressed whether this would be possible, saying "We're in the final editing.

I don't think so.

May 2, Archived from the original on July 1, Retrieved July 2, Cable was canceled in April with issue 25 the final issue being called Deadpool and Cable In the storyline " Second Coming ", Cable succumbs to the techno-organic virus in his bloodstream while holding open a time-portal that allowed other members of X-Force to escape from the future.

The death was shown in X-Force 28 written by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost , who noted that, "For us, Cable was always a character whose death was something the character himself would put forward—if that's what it took to complete his mission, he wouldn't think twice about it.

The miniseries served as a lead-in to the Avengers vs. X-Men storyline beginning in April Having been teleported to the future during his last act, Cable learned from his old mentor, Blaquesmith, that Hope will apparently die in some future accident caused by the Avengers , prompting him to go back in time and try to use his last 24 hours of life before the techno-organic virus completely consumes his body to stop the Avengers before they can kill Hope.

Although he manages to defeat Captain America , Falcon , and Iron Man , he is caught off-guard when he is attacked by the Red Hulk , initially assuming that the Red Hulk is "Talbot", a foe from the future, before the Red Hulk informs him with grim satisfaction that he is actually someone who Cable has never fought before.

The Avengers then proceeded to fight Cable until he was nearly dead from both the fight and the virus, and Cyclops asked to take his son home, with Captain America insisting the Avengers keep the weapons and ship.

Back at Utopia, Blaquesmith helps Hope to realize that she can still save Cable, and she begins to absorb the techno-organic virus before fully manifesting the Phoenix Force raptor for the first time around herself.

When it vanishes, Cable is cured not only of the advanced incursion of the virus, but apparently fully, as his left hand is shown to be fully organic along with his left eye, but he remains in a catatonic state.

Afterwards, Cable and Cyclops speak telepathically, with Cable informing his father that Hope is indeed the Phoenix and is destined to save Earth from an unknown disaster.

He goes on to say that a war will come with the Avengers and that he needs Cyclops to protect Hope. Cable promises to be there when he's needed in the future.

The series debuted in December and features Cable and a new fugitive team, unofficially referred to by the Marvel Universe media as the new "X-Force".

After the events of "Avengers X-Sanction" Cable is forced to wear an eye patch and an advanced harness for his non-functioning left arm that was created by Forge.

Nemesis, Fantomex , Marrow and new recruit MeMe in order to track down and deal with mutant threats using lethal force. Cable is infected with an extra-dimensional Super Soldier Serum that provides superpowers at the cost of killing them in around a year, however Cable is injected with an early version designed to kill him in a day.

Cable and X-Force eventually track down the man Volga who created the biotech virus and defeat him. However, Fantomex goes insane from needing to "be the best" and betrays the team using new god-like powers derived from a digitized form of the Volga Effect he had copied during a tryst with Meme.

Hope then takes over as leader of X-Force and "fires" Cable for his morally questionable methods.
